As the summer winds to a close around here, I am deep in school planning. Today's newsletter is later in the day than I usually send it because I've had a summer cold and I've been prepping for my own homeschool this week!

So, my apologies if you were looking for it this morning. Here are some tools I'm using...

πŸ“ Fresh Picks

Planning Your Year - This article details my suggestions for planning out your homeschool year. I'm currently updating a few of the links, so if you click on it right away give me a couple hours after sending this email to finish connecting the 26-27 stuff! ;-)

Homeschool Planning Trello Board - This article shows how I use a free version of Trello to plan out my homeschool year. I've been using it this summer yet again!!

25 Items I Can't Homeschool Without - I love getting homeschool supply ideas from other moms. So, I wrote this a few years ago to share some of the items I use and love!

🧰 Teaching Tools

Printable Homeschool Planner '26-'27 - I just finished updating my homeschool printable planner for this school year. I use many pages from this every year, along with the digital planner below. Check out the instructions for how I use it in this article (even though the pictures are of last year's planner). Newsletter subscribers get 30% off with the coupon code at the bottom of this email. Good through 7/31.

9 Google Sheets Lesson Planner Templates - I created the initial version of this digital planner years ago and have used iterations of it for the past five years. The free version is still available, but if you're looking for more templates and setups, this product has them for you. The way I have always used it is to add all of my details - student names, subjects, etc. and then print out a month's worth of pages. Then as we go I add in the pages we completed, and then before printing the next month's pages I adjust anything that has changed. My main goal was to have a completely customized lesson planner so I wouldn't have to write each subject down each day - just the pages we completed. Newsletter subscribers get 30% off with the coupon code at the bottom of this email. Good through 7/31.

R.E.A.L. Science Odyssey - Chemistry for Grades 2-5 [secular resource] I purchased the ebook version of this science text to use along with our Claritas Chemistry memory work this year. I like the simplicity of the experiments and lab pages as well as the easily readable "textbook" pages. This resource is all black and white except for the cover. So, it's not as "pretty" as other science books I've seen. But I'm excited to give it a try this year.

πŸ“š On My Bookshelf

Audible audiobooks* - I've enjoyed using my Audible subscription this year. I love a good mystery or historical fiction story. But they have tons of homeschool books* on there too - esp. if you want to get a free trial*.

Chirp audiobooks - I recently added this app to my phone. Chirp aims to provide discounts on audiobooks - often for less than $2!! (I'm not an affiliate for Chirp btw, just a fan.)

πŸ’° Deals and Steals

The Well-Trained Mind - up to 40% off Math with Confidence & more

All About Learning Press* - monthly GIVEAWAY signup

30% off coupon just for you! - Check out the coupon code at the bottom of this email, for subscribers only.

Happy Planning!

Emily
